Exhibit at Swem Library & Opening Events

Our exhibit at Swem, on display through April 28, is the culmination of this semester’s archival research at Virginia Commonwealth University, the Library of Virginia, and the College of William & 玛丽.  The opening exhibit reception, on April 4, 2016, was preceded by a roundtable discussion with presentations from our undergraduate student researchers. 

Through their research, the students uncovered histories and materials related to Virginia’s discriminatory ABC laws, gay and lesbian student activism, the positions of politicians in relation to LGBTIQ rights legislation, among others.
