Eligibility for federal financial aid is determined each year by completing the FAFSA or the Virginia Alternative State Aid (VASA) application.
W&M Cost of Attendance – Student Aid Index (SAI) – Outside Scholarships/Additional Resources
Financial need will be determined using the estimated cost of two full-time semesters at W&M (Cost of Attendance) and subtracting the student aid index (as calculated by the FAFSA or VASA) along with any outside scholarships or additional resources.
Need-based financial aid includes grants, need-based scholarships, federal Direct Subsidized loans and federal work-study. These funding sources are required to fit within a student’s financial need.
