Faculty International Conference Travel Grants

Effective March 7, 2025, no more international conference grants will be awarded during FY25. We are accepting applications for conferences that take place in FY26, which is anything after May 1, 2025.

雷夫斯国际研究中心(Reves Center for International Studies)通常会为在国际会议上发表论文的W&M教职员工提供500美元的资助; 在美国的会议上发表有关国际、全球或跨国主题的论文,则可获得400美元 The Reves Center typically awards $30,000 in international conference grants per academic year, with roughly half set aside for fall/winter and half for spring/summer.

Application Process

Applications from tenured, tenure-eligible, full-time non-tenure-eligible faculty and full-time visiting faculty with multi-year appointments will be considered. Eligible applications typically exceed the amount of available funding, so we encourage faculty to apply early, include abstracts that are accessible to non-specialists, and be clear about the benefits of the conference for both their own work and international studies at the university. Faculty members may receive one award per fiscal year (July 1-June 30).

Please note: Complete applications must be submitted no later than 8 weeks in advance of the conference start date.

Applications for support are accepted on a rolling basis as long as funds are available. The online form -- which requires W&M faculty and staff to log into the W&M system for verification -- must be completed in full to be considered for funding, and submitted no later than 8 weeks in advance of the conference start date. Typically, we are unable to provide funding for applications that fall outside of this time frame. Documentation confirming the faculty member's acceptance to the conference is requested at the time of application via email to [[dralleman,Dianne Alleman]]

Grants are processed as reimbursements for conference expenses, and are handled by staff in the grantee's home department, program, or school. Grantees must submit requests for reimbursement (including invoices, itemized receipts, etc.) to their department, program, or school administrator no later than 30 days after the close of the conference. The Reves Center will consider grants forfeited if proper documentation is not submitted in a timely manner.

Questions may be directed to [[dralleman,Dianne Alleman]].
